Manhunt Underway for Person of Interest in Hackney Stabbing
Kamar Williams, 33, is wanted by detectives probing the fatal stabbing of Derek Neil Thomas in Hackney. Williams, born January 21, 1991, lives on the Isle of Dogs, E14, but is known to frequent east and south-east London areas.
Police warn the public: do NOT approach him. If spotted, call 999 immediately. Anyone with info on Williams’ whereabouts should contact the incident room on 0208 345 3715, quoting Operation Brooktunnel.
Fatal Stabbing Shocks Hackney Neighbourhood
The brutal stabbing happened just after 11pm on July 30 in Northwold Road, N16. Officers rushed to the scene after reports of a stabbing.
Victim Derek Neil Thomas, 53, of Stoke Newington, tragically died at the scene despite emergency crews’ efforts. A post-mortem at Poplar Mortuary confirmed death was caused by a chest stab wound.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Rogers of the Met’s Specialist Crime (Homicide) Command is leading the investigation.
Arrests Made but Hunt Continues
A 30-year-old woman was arrested on August 3 on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in custody.
