Man Jailed for Attempted Rape in Worksop Home
Jamie Bradford, 26, has been sentenced to three years behind bars for the attempted rape of a woman in her own home in Worksop. The case concluded at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday 8 December 2020, after Bradford pleaded guilty.
Harsh Sentence and Lifetime Sex Offender Registration
Bradford, currently held at HMP Nottingham, attacked the victim on 17 December 2019. Along with his three-year jail term, he will remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely. A restraining order has also been imposed to keep him away from the victim.
Police Praise Victim for Courage
“I’d like to commend the victim and her family for their immense bravery throughout this prosecution,” said Detective Sergeant Tom Carver of Nottinghamshire Police’s Public Protection Team. “I hope today’s result brings them some comfort. It also sends a clear message to other victims that Nottinghamshire Police take rape and sexual assault very seriously.”
Support for Survivors: Reporting Made Easier
DS Carver added that reporting sexual offences is a deeply personal decision and should be based on what feels right for the survivor alone.
“You may not be sure what happened or how to talk about it,” he said. “Our specially trained officers are here to help you every step of the way.”
