Bomb Squad Descends on Ash Eaton Health Centre Over Suspicious Package
Emergency services, including a bomb disposal unit, rushed to Ash Eaton Health Centre in Folkestone today after a suspicious package was reported. The incident caused major disruption, with road closures and restricted access around the health centre and nearby buildings.
Controlled Explosions Used to Neutralise Threat
Witnesses saw the bomb squad arrive swiftly, carrying out controlled detonations to render the device safe. Pedestrians and vehicles were barred from entering the cordoned-off area during the operation.
Local resident Peggy McIntyre said, “The area had been completely cordoned off, and the bomb disposal teams were hard at work.” Another witness, Wendy Kaines Mazzoncini, spotted the squad collecting evidence in bags.
No Injuries Reported, Residents Allowed to Return
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the scare. Residents who had been evacuated were allowed back into their homes once the bomb squad confirmed the area was safe.

The initial road closures have since been lifted as emergency services wrapped up their work.
