Police Investigate Stabbing and Collision in East London
London, February 12, 2025 – A collision between a car and a moped in Barking Road, E6, early this morning led to a major police response after officers were alerted to a stabbing near the scene.
Incident Details
Metropolitan Police confirmed they were called to Barking Road at around 1:10 AM on Wednesday, February 12, following reports of a collision involving a car and a moped
- The cyclist, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-changing.
- Shortly after, emergency services were alerted to a separate stabbing nearby, believed to have involved the driver of the car in the collision.
Victim in Serious Condition
The victim of the stabbing, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries.
Ongoing Investigation
- No arrests have been made.
- A large police cordon remains in place as detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding the stabbing and collision.
Appeal for Witnesses
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:
“We were called at 1.08am today (Wednesday 12 February) to reports of an incident in East Ham.
“We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Barking Road. We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.
“We were also called to reports of a stabbing on Barking Road. We sent an ambulance crew and a paramedic in a fast response car to the scene.
“In total we treated two patients. We took one person to a major trauma centre and the other patient to a local hospital.”
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at around 01:10hrs on Wednesday, 12 February to Barking Road, E6 to reports of a collision between a car and a bike.
“London Ambulance Service also attended and the rider of the bike, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital. His injuries were assessed as not life-changing.
“Police were then alerted by the London Ambulance Service to a stabbing close by.
“It is believed the victim of the stabbing, a man in his 20s, was the driver of the car involved in the collision.
“He was taken to hospital and his injuries are believed to be life-changing.
“There have been no arrests at this stage and enquiries continue. A large cordon remains in place.”
