Two suspected burglars armed with hammers have been arrested following a nasty spree targeting shops near Sevenoaks. The brazen break-ins unfolded in the early hours, leaving staff shaken but empty-handed.
Spirit Heist Foiled at Riverhead Convenience Store
At around 5.10am on Tuesday 22 April 2025, the suspects smashed their way into a 1 convenience store in Riverhead. They threatened staff with a hammer while trying to nick bottles of spirits. Luckily, they fled without stealing a thing.
Quick Reaction Catches Crooks at Tiles Shop
Officers were soon alerted to a second break-in when an alarm blared at a nearby Topps Tiles store. The criminals forced entry through a door and attempted to snatch power tools and sweets from a fridge. But police were on the scene fast and arrested two men, aged in their 30s and 40s.
Suspects Bailed, Investigation Ongoing
Both suspects were hauled into custody and are now on police bail, awaiting further enquiries. Authorities continue probing the dual break-ins as locals breathe a sigh of relief.
