A 22-year-old man has been arrested following an investigation into a series of alleged indecent exposure incidents in Southwick.

Wiltshire Police said the man, who is from Trowbridge, was arrested on suspicion of seven counts of exposure, three counts of outraging public decency and three counts of voyeurism.

He remains in police custody for questioning.

The arrest came after a member of the public spotted the suspect on Thursday evening, 20 August, and flagged down officers who were already patrolling the area.

Police have been carrying out increased patrols in Southwick following a number of incidents which have caused concern among residents.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Charly Chilton said: “We appreciate the significant amount of concern and distress that these incidents have caused in the area.

“We have been conducting regular patrols in the community over the past few weeks and we’re pleased to say that following another incident yesterday, local officers on patrols were flagged down by a member of the public and the suspect was arrested.

“This type of offence is taken incredibly seriously and we encourage anyone who has experienced or witnessed such behaviour to contact us.”

The investigation remains ongoing while the suspect is questioned by officers.
