Police hunt Hit and Run Driver after 4 year old Girl is Mowed Down

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fail to stop collision in Southampton which left a four-year-old girl in hospital. Officers were called to Denzil Avenue at 7.50pm yesterday (27 July) to reports of a collision involving a young girl and a car. The car, a silver Ford Focus, failed to stop at the scene. The four-year-old girl suffered a broken leg and was taken to Southampton General Hospital. She remains in hospital this morning. The car, which has a registration that ends UEN, was later recovered by police in Fanshaw Street, close to Onslow Road. PC Ian Bassett said: “We believe that when the silver Ford Focus left the scene it dropped off two people in Verulam Road a short time later. “We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen this car driving around this area last night as you could have information that could really help our investigation. “If you witnessed the incident or know who was in the car yesterday evening, then please get in touch with us – a young girl suffered a serious injury and we want to find the person who was driving that car. “I would also like to take this opportunity to appeal to the driver of the car to come forward so that we can find out exactly what happened.” If you have any information relating to this case, please call 101 quoting reference ‘44170289565’, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
