Hit and Run Horror: Police Hunt Driver Who Mowed Down 4-Year-Old Girl in Southampton

Police are on the hunt for a hit and run driver after a four-year-old girl was left seriously injured in Southampton.

Four-Year-Old Rushed to Hospital with Broken Leg

Officers were called to Denzil Avenue at 7.50pm on 27 July following reports that a young girl had been hit by a car. The vehicle, a silver Ford Focus, sped off without stopping. The little girl suffered a broken leg and was rushed to Southampton General Hospital, where she remains this morning.

Car Recovered, Two Passengers Dropped Off Nearby

The police later found the silver Ford Focus on Fanshaw Street, near Onslow Road. PC Ian Bassett revealed that the car dropped off two people shortly after the collision on Verulam Road. Investigators are keen to speak to anyone who saw the car in that area during the evening.

Police Plea: Driver and Witnesses Urged to Come Forward

“If you witnessed the incident or know who was in the car, please get in touch,” said PC Bassett. “A young girl suffered a serious injury and we want to find the driver. We also urge the driver to come forward and explain what happened.”
