Schoolboy Left Fighting for Life After Crash in Southampton

A schoolboy suffered serious injuries after a shocking road traffic collision in Southampton. Police are urging witnesses to come forward.

Seven-Year-Old Hit While Playing

Officers rushed to Acacia Road, Merryoak, at around 5.45pm on Wednesday, February 24, following reports a seven-year-old boy was struck by a car.

The youngster had been playing with a friend on a nearby green space moments before being hit by a black Vauxhall Zafira.

Serious Injuries and Hospital Stay

The boy was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, including a broken leg, and remains in care while recovering.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Police Constable Brendan said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident or seen the car or children before it happened.”

The driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with police inquiries.
