A young boy has been rushed to hospital after a serious crash in Portsmouth this morning. The accident happened on New Road, where police and investigators remain at the scene.

Witnesses say the boy suddenly ran into the road and was struck by a Citroen Saxo. Emergency crews raced to the scene, treated him on-site, and then took him to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital under police escort.
Police Hunt for Answers
Hampshire Police were alerted at 8.20am about the collision involving the boy and the car. Officers have spent the morning piecing together what happened but no arrests have been made.
