The M2 motorway is shut westbound from Junction 6 to Junction 5 after a major collision just after 8.30pm on Saturday.

Kent Police are leading the response, with all emergency services including the air ambulance called in to assist.
Hundreds of drivers are stuck in both northbound and southbound queues as the closure causes chaos on the busy route.
Highways England Working Flat Out
Highways England has deployed teams to clear the scene and restore normal traffic flow as quickly as possible.
Currently, there are no delays reported approaching the closure point, but motorists are advised to expect disruption.
Diversions in Place – Follow the Signs
- London-bound vehicles must leave the M2 at Junction 6 and head south on the A251 towards the A252 in Challock.
- At the A252 roundabout, turn west towards Charing and join the A20.
- Follow the A20 westbound to maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone and join the M20 at Junction 8, heading towards London.
- Exit at Junction 7, then take the northbound A249 towards M2 Junction 5 to rejoin the motorway.
Drivers are urged to follow the solid square diversion signs to avoid getting stuck in the gridlock.
