A 26-year-old Ashford man was arrested after a dramatic police chase on the M6 that led to a motorway shutdown.
Wild Chase on the Motorway
Lancashire Police got a tip-off around 8:45pm yesterday about reckless driving on the M6 near Stubbins.
Officers tried to pull over a Seat Ibiza, but the driver ignored them and shocked onlookers by making a U-turn — heading north on the southbound carriageway, sending traffic into chaos.
Police Act Fast to Stop Danger
To stop the madness, a police vehicle made tactical contact with the car, forcing it to halt and preventing further risk to motorists.
Suspect Held and Motorway Reopens
The Ashford man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in custody. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
The motorway was closed during the drama and only reopened by 10:25pm, easing massive delays for drivers caught up in the turmoil.
