A 26-year-old man from Ashford sparked chaos on the M6 last night after a wild police chase shut down the motorway.
Motorway Madness: Reckless Driver Sparks High-Speed Chase
Lancashire Police received a tip-off at around 8:45pm about a reckless driver on the M6 near Stubbins. Officers spotted a Seat Ibiza and tried to pull it over — but the driver had other plans.
Shockingly, the suspect made a dangerous U-turn and raced north on the southbound carriageway, sending drivers into a panic and causing traffic mayhem.
Police Tackle Danger Head-On
Police acted fast. To bring the chase to an end, an officer’s vehicle made tactical contact with the Seat Ibiza, forcing it to stop and ending the threat to other road users.
Suspect Arrested as Motorway Reopens
The Ashford man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and remains in custody. Miraculously, no serious injuries were reported.
The M6 was shut down during the ordeal but reopened by 10:25pm, easing the heavy traffic snarls caused by the drama.
