Wokingham Man Jailed Over Brutal Pub Glass Attack
A Wokingham man has been locked up for more than four years after a savage pub attack left a young man seriously wounded.
Gary Jordan Sentenced to 4½ Years for Glass Assault
Gary Jordan, 50, from Windmill Avenue, was handed a 4 years and 6 months sentence at Reading Crown Court on Thursday, 12 March 2026. A jury found him guilty of wounding with intent after a four-day trial.
Victim Brutally Attacked Outside Pub
The horrific assault took place just before midnight on 30 September 2023 at a Peach Street pub. Jordan smashed a glass into the face of a man in his twenties, causing severe injuries that needed urgent medical care.
Police Praise Witnesses and Victim’s Bravery
“This was a shocking and entirely unacceptable act of violence, which left the victim with significant injuries,” said Specialist Investigator Pippa Sharman.
“I want to thank the many members of the public who came forward in this investigation, especially those who gave evidence at court, and the courage of the victim to continue with this investigation.
“This was an unnecessary incident which has caused such harm to those involved. Thames Valley Police remains committed to protecting the public and ensuring violent offenders are brought to justice.”
Jordan was arrested on 7 October 2023 and charged on 20 July 2024 after a thorough Thames Valley Police probe.
