Two robberies in Gillingham have led officers to charge a suspect

 

At 9.20pm on Wednesday 16 February 2022 a man was walking along Franklin Road, Gillingham, when he was approached by two other men.

 

The suspects are reported to have threatened the victim before stealing his mobile phone and walking away.

At around 10pm, a second robbery was alleged to have happened where another victim was approached by two men while walking on Canterbury Street. The men are reported to have threatened the victim before searching his pockets and stealing a quantity of cash.

Within 20 minutes of the second robbery officers searching the area arrested a suspect. The second man has not yet been identified.

Kaizra Campbell, 19, of Autumn Way, West Drayton, Greater London, has been charged with two counts of robbery and also possession of cannabis.

 

Mr Campbell appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 18 February where he was released on bail and is due to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on 17 March.
