Police are appealing for information after an attempted burglary in Chilworth.

Two men used force to try and gain entry to a garage attached to a house in Lordswood Lane at around 12.45pm on Tuesday, December 27.

They were disturbed by the owner returning home and nothing was taken. However, several hundred pounds worth of damage was caused to the garage door.

PC David Fuge of Southampton CID said:

“We are looking to speak to the two men in the CCTV images in connection with this incident.

“Did you see these men in the area? Do you recognise them or their clothing? If so please call me on 101, quoting 44160486232.”

The first man is described as 18 to 30 years old, white, of medium build with facial hair, wearing dark upper clothing, a black beanie hat, black gloves, dark tracksuit bottoms with stripes on the side and dark trainers.

The other man is described as white, of chubby build, wearing a light coloured (possibly grey) hooded top and matching jogging bottoms, dark coloured gloves and dark trainers with white soles.
