Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in which a 77-year-old man was seriously injured.

The incident occurred today (29/4) at about 2.40pm on Lechlade Road A417 in Faringdon, Oxfordshire.

Officers received a report of a collision involving a three series BMW which had sustained substantial damage.

The driver of the vehicle, a 77-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains in a serious condition.

The road remains closed at this time as the investigation continues but is expected to re-open later this evening.

Investigating officer Sergeant Bryan Smith, of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, said: “We are working to establish the circumstances of this collision, and I would urge anyone who witnessed it to come forward and talk to police.

“We would also like to speak to anyone who has dashcam footage of the incident.
