Exmouth Lifeboat Station Repairs Window in Under 48 Hours – For Free!
Back in August 2022, a huge 8x4ft window at Exmouth Lifeboat Station was smashed and needed urgent replacement. The job was handed to local firm MPS Glass & Window Centre, who sprang into action.
Rapid Response from Local Family Firm
The MPS team didn’t mess about. They visited the station in the dead of night, assessed the damage, then swiftly manufactured and fitted a specially shaped window – all within 48 hours. Even better, they waved the hefty repair costs as a donation to the Exmouth RNLI.
RNLI Boss Gives Special Thanks
In recognition of this generous gesture, RNLI Chief Executive Mark Dowie awarded MPS Glass a special certificate on behalf of the RNLI Council.
“They donated their services to assess, manufacture and fit a replacement window within 48 hours,” said Dowie.
Family Business Proud to Support RNLI
Malcolm Sansom, MD of MPS Windows, accepted the honour at Exmouth Lifeboat Station alongside his wife Kirsty.
“We are very proud of this award, which will take pride of place in our office. As a family firm serving Exmouth for 31 years and keen water users ourselves, we know how vital the RNLI volunteers are in saving lives,” said Sansom.
Des White, Chair of Exmouth RNLI Fundraising, praised the speedy repair and kind donation:
“MPS Windows impressed us with the speed and quality of their work, and their decision to donate the costs to our charity was outstanding. The RNLI Council’s recognition is well deserved.”
