Shock Shooting in South West London Injures Four Including 11-Year-Old Girl
An 11-year-old girl and a woman were among four people injured in a shocking pellet gun shooting in Mitcham, South West London. The attack happened around 5:40pm on Sunday, March 24, in Figges Marsh open space.
Shots Fired in Figges Marsh Open Space
Police were called at 5:40pm after reports of shots fired near London Road, Mitcham. Witnesses saw a large group of males in a nearby street moments before the shooting. The victims were all treated for pellet wounds but none suffered life-threatening injuries.
Victims Treated in Hospital
A 30-year-old woman and the 11-year-old girl, who knew each other but are not related, were found with shotgun pellet injuries. The woman was struck in the back, and the girl sustained a pellet wound to her leg. Both were rushed to hospital by London Ambulance Service.
Shortly after, two teenage boys, also with pellet injuries, turned up at a South London hospital. Their injuries are reported as non-serious.
Police Hunt Witnesses and Suspects
South West CID detectives are leading the investigation but no arrests have been made yet. Officers are keen to speak to the group of males spotted near the scene before the shooting.
