Woman Targeted in Shocking Racial Abuse on Rochester Road
A young woman in her 20s was horrified after a car swung onto the pavement near her and hurled racial abuse during a late-night incident on the A226 Rochester Road.
Car Swerves Onto Pavement Near Garage
The terrifying episode unfolded at around 11pm on Monday, 24 May 2021, close to a roundabout and an MOT garage. A black car, flashing a red light, suddenly swerved onto the wrong side of the road and mounted the pavement right beside the woman as she walked.
Racial Abuse and Threats Made
Witnesses say the occupants shouted racial slurs at the victim and threatened to use the vehicle to cause her harm. The car then sped off, leaving the woman shaken.
Police Hunt for Dashcam Footage and Witnesses
Kent Police have launched a full investigation, conducting door-to-door enquiries and scouring local CCTV. Drivers with dashcams who were in the area around 11pm are urged to check their footage for any clues.
Residents are also asked to review doorbell and home security cameras – any evidence could prove crucial.
