18-Year-Old Moped Rider Injured in Smash

A dramatic police chase on the Isle of Dogs ended in a collision on Alpha Grove on Thursday afternoon, leaving an 18-year-old moped rider hurt but stable.

At around 3:30 PM on 6th March 2025, Metropolitan Police officers chased a moped that smashed into a parked car near Mellish Street junction. The rider was rushed to hospital with injuries confirmed as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.

Emergency Services Swarm the Scene

The area saw a huge police response with multiple vehicles flashing blue lights. Alpha Grove was partially blocked as paramedics and officers worked quickly to aid the injured rider and secure the scene.
