Kent Police Hunt Owner of Stolen Coin Collection Found in Van Stop
Kent cops want your help to find the rightful owner of a valuable coin collection discovered during a routine van stop in Gravesend.
Van Search Uncovers Blue Velvet Coin Stash
On 24th February 2024, officers pulled over a van in Gravesend and found a coin collection hidden in the rear compartment. The collection, kept in two blue velvet cases, includes various coins and commemorative postcards. Police suspect the items are stolen from East Kent.
Police Plea: Help Return Precious Collectibles
PC Nick Lingham of Kent Police’s Rural Task Force spoke out about the case: “We believe this collection has been stolen as part of a burglary. Someone has clearly spent time and effort gathering these items. We want to reunite this collection with its rightful owner.”
He added that anyone identifying the collection must prove ownership before the items can be returned.
Suspect from Portsmouth Released on Bail
The van driver, a man in his 30s from Portsmouth, was arrested for bulk shoplifting linked to the find. He has now been bailed until 22nd March while investigations continue.
