Meanwhile, six others were arrested over various offences at football matches across the city. All 15 suspects are currently in custody at police stations, with investigations ongoing.

Police Stand Firm on Law and Order

Commander Ade Adelekan, leading policing for the day, said:

“The majority of those attending today’s events did so peacefully.”

“The arrests made demonstrate that there are consequences for those whose behaviour steps outside the law.”

Despite the tension, police insisted most demonstrators kept things calm, but any troublemakers face serious consequences.
