Kent Police have arrested a 51-year-old man in Sheerness following an incident in which he allegedly damaged the roof of a house and threw material into the road.
The incident occurred yesterday afternoon (June 12) around 3:25 PM at Vincent Gardens. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the man causing significant damage to the property’s roof and discarding debris onto the street.
According to unconfirmed reports, the man owns the house and has been in an ongoing dispute with the tenant.
Police responded swiftly to the scene and apprehended the man. He is currently in custody, and an investigation is underway.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “We were called to Vincent Gardens at approximately 3:25 PM on June 12 following reports of a man causing damage to a property and throwing material into the road. A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody as our enquiries continue.”
Local residents expressed their concern over the incident, citing safety and disruption caused by the debris in the road. The road was temporarily closed while authorities cleared the material and ensured the area was safe.
