Windsor Dad Branded ‘Bully’ After Years of Child Abuse

Rachid Khadla, 56, from Windsor, Berkshire, has been found guilty of violently abusing and manipulating his three children over many years, Reading Crown Court heard. The victims are now adults.

Obsessed With Weight, Controlled Kids’ Lives

Judge Kirsty Real slammed Khadla as “a bully” during sentencing. The Crown Prosecution Service revealed Khadla was obsessed with dieting and control. He forced his daughter to sign a chilling pact promising to “never get fat, even until I die.”

Prosecutor Alex Krickler detailed horrific abuse, including Khadla throwing a chair at his daughter when she was just nine. The blow left her with a keloid on her ear that needed multiple operations.

“She was made to feel worthless and stupid by her own father,” said Krickler, outlining how anxiety and eating disorders plagued the children.

Physical Assault and Mental Toll

All three children regularly suffered physical punishment with a wooden spoon. Their social lives and activities were strictly controlled by Khadla.

The abuse only came to light in 2019 when his teenage son told police his dad had strangled and punched him.

In a victim impact statement, Khadla’s eldest son revealed the torment began at age five and has left him with “long-term mental health issues.” He described Khadla as “plotting and calculating every move.” The son’s bullying at school “was almost enjoyable compared to the life I left at home.”

Justice Served, Childhoods Shattered

Khadla, of Dedworth Road, Windsor, denied assault and cruelty charges but was found guilty by a jury.

Sentencing, Judge Real said Khadla had “effectively ruined their childhoods” with “multiple incidents of cruelty over many years” and called him “unwilling to accept or acknowledge” his actions.
