Tragic Double Death: Mum and Toddler Found Dead in London Home
Shiwangi Bagoan, 25, and her two-year-old daughter Ziana were found dead at their Drake Court home on December 14, 2020. Family members discovered their bodies and immediately called London Ambulance Service and police.
Suspicious Death Sparks Murder Probe
Specialist homicide detectives launched an investigation after the deaths were deemed suspicious. They found that Shiwangi, who worked in hospital operating theatres, used her medical knowledge to administer lethal doses of Propofol and Rocuronium to Ziana before taking her own life.
Notes found at the scene backed up this chilling conclusion. It’s believed both died on December 11, 2020. Police found no evidence anyone else was involved.
Police Speak Out on Mental Health Crisis
Detective Chief Inspector Jim Shirley, Met Specialist Crime Command: “This is a truly tragic case. My thoughts are with Shiwangi and Ziana’s family as they try to come to terms with this terrible loss. We may never know why Shiwangi did this, but it’s clear mental ill health played a massive role.”
“Mental health challenges are widespread and impact countless families. If you are struggling or having harmful thoughts, please reach out for help.”
