Masked Machete Man Gets Seven and a Half Years
Gregory Small, from Cedar Road, Farnborough, has been slammed with a hefty prison sentence after a violent machete attack. The Salisbury Crown Court found him guilty of attempted grievous bodily harm (GBH) and affray following a tense three-day trial.
Bizarre Attack in Queens Road
On August 27, 2019, Small shocked onlookers after swinging a machete at one of four men in Queens Road – all while dressed in a creepy black ‘Scream’ mask and a cape-style coat. One victim suffered cuts to the abdomen and hand, plus bruises to the forearm.
Violent Brawl Ends with Police Arrest
The other three men stepped in and fought back, knocking Small to the ground and causing one of their own to get slashed during the scuffle. They sped off, but police soon caught up and searched Small’s car, uncovering the deadly blade.
Small was treated in hospital for a fractured skull and multiple bruises, but the court ruled the group’s attack was self-defence – no charges were brought against them.
Lengthy Criminal Record Sees Him Locked Up
- Small admitted threatening someone with a bladed weapon in public, earning a 1.5-year sentence.
- Back in March 2020, he was convicted of possessing cannabis with intent to supply (four months) and illegal possession of 1 (one month).
- All sentences run concurrently, meaning Small will serve a total of seven and a half years behind bars.
