Gym Groper Jailed After Creeping on Woman Twice
Hernando Ferraro-Cordoba, 60, sparked outrage after attacking a woman at a Cambridge gym on 15 November 2021.
Unwanted Kiss and Creepy Comeback
Ferraro-Cordoba started chatting to the woman before grabbing her and kissing her repeatedly on the face. Thankfully, she pushed him away, and staff threw him out.
But the nightmare wasn’t over. As the woman left the gym, she spotted Ferraro-Cordoba lurking in the car park. He told her, “The moon looks so beautiful, it looks like you,” and asked if he could go home with her.
Luckily, a member of staff witnessed the encounter and confronted him. Ferraro-Cordoba then fled the scene on his bike.
Justice Served at Cambridge Crown Court
The woman reported the ordeal to police, and Ferraro-Cordoba was arrested the following week. He pleaded guilty to sexual assault at Cambridge Crown Court.
The judge handed down an 18-week prison sentence. He also received a restraining order, a seven-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for seven years.
Police Crack Down on Violence Against Women
DC Paul Evans slammed the groper: “Violence against women and girls is a force priority. People like Ferraro-Cordoba are a danger to women, and I am pleased we were able to put him in front of the courts and get justice for the victim.
“Public harassment and violence is not acceptable, and we are aiming to make the streets and public areas of Cambridgeshire a hostile place for potential offenders.”
