Man Jailed for Deadly Crash on Great West Road in Hounslow
Harry Hopkins, 27, has been handed a 2½-year prison sentence after a fatal hit-and-run on the Great West Road, Hounslow.
Speeding Driver Kills Pedestrian
Hopkins, from The Drive, TW7, pleaded guilty to death by dangerous driving at Isleworth Crown Court on 29 June. He was disqualified from driving for over three years and must pass an extended driving test before getting behind the wheel again.
Detective Sergeant Aaron Moon, who led the investigation, revealed chilling witness accounts: “Hopkins was seen speeding and his car ‘sounded like a rally car’ before the crash.”
Ms Mina Limbu, 44, was struck while crossing the road and died at the scene. “Her family has been left devastated,” added DS Moon. “This tragedy is a stark reminder for all drivers to keep their speed down and drive with care. A split second can change lives forever.”
Crash Scene and Aftermath
The deadly collision happened around 3pm on 29 April 2018 near the junction of the A4 and A30. Officers on routine patrol found Mina seriously injured and gave first aid until paramedics and the Air Ambulance arrived. Despite their efforts, Mina was pronounced dead on site.
Hopkins, driving a Ford Focus RS, stayed at the scene but was arrested on suspicion of drug driving. He was eventually charged after further investigation by the Roads and Transport Policing Command.
Family Speaks Out on Heartbreak
“Our mother was an honest, hardworking, and kind woman,” said Mina’s son Sesehang Angbuhang. “She is deeply missed by us and everyone who knew her. She worked two jobs while we were in school and always pushed us to value education.”
“We had just returned from our father’s funeral when this happened. Losing both parents so close together has been devastating. The past two years have been the darkest times for our family as we try to heal from this trauma.”
