Predator Jailed for Preying on Underage Girls
Saner Muharrem, 25, from Homer Drive E14, was slammed with a hefty five and a half years behind bars at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday, 12 January. The court convicted him of 11 chilling offences, including inciting and engaging in sexual activity with a child.
Police Hunt Uncovered Shocking Evidence
Detectives kicked off their probe on 20 October 2021 after tips revealed Muharrem was uploading indecent images of children online. Police seized his phone during a raid on his home, uncovering damning evidence. Specialists found he’d been targeting countless underage girls via Snapchat and Instagram.
The investigation struck gold when officers discovered over 500 indecent images stored across his devices.
Continued Abuse Despite Court Orders
Despite being slapped with a Sexual Risk Order at Thames Magistrates’ Court in November 2022, Muharrem continued his vile activities. He kept seeking indecent images of girls under 16 and even tried to meet some of them. In one sick instance, he kissed a 13-year-old girl without her consent.
Lead Detective Praises Brave Victims
PC Simon Marchant-Brown, who led the investigation, said: “Muharrem would befriend girls on social media, pretending to care. He offered money, alcohol and cannabis to lure them into sending explicit images. He even threatened to leak what he had if they refused.
“This sentence reflects the seriousness of his crimes. I want to praise the seven brave victims who gave evidence – without them, we couldn’t have brought him to justice.
“If anyone has been a victim of sexual abuse, please come forward. We’re here to listen, help, and catch offenders like Muharrem.”
