Three Arrested in Greater Manchester Terror Sting
Greater Manchester Police swooped in a major counter-terror raid, arresting three men aged 35, 36, and 51. They face suspicion of carrying out, preparing, and inciting terrorist acts. The arrests hit three separate addresses across the region, with all suspects now in custody for questioning.
Multiple Raids Target Terror Plot
In a coordinated crackdown at around 7:30pm, officers executed four search warrants in Bolton, Great Lever, Abram, and Hindley. Cops continue to hold a strong presence at these scenes as the investigation unfolds under the Terrorism Act 2000.
Police Calm Fears, No Wider Threat
Despite the scale of the operation, authorities stress there is no ongoing danger to the public. Assistant Chief Constable Rob Potts, head of counter-terror policing in the northwest, said:
“Today’s activity has been the culmination of much detailed planning, and we have put measures in place to minimize disruption to residents as much as possible.”
“We do not currently believe there to be any wider threat linked to today’s activity.”
Potts acknowledged that such arrests naturally raise concerns but reassured that police are working diligently to keep communities safe. Further updates will be provided as the inquiry progresses.
Police Remain Vigilant in Protecting Communities
This latest bust highlights law enforcement’s relentless drive to stop terror threats before they materialise. Meticulous planning and swift action remain key to ensuring public safety across Greater Manchester and beyond.
