Man Jailed Nearly Three Years for Waving Fake Gun in Brutal London Gang Fight
A Westminster man who brandished an imitation firearm during a violent gang brawl has been sentenced to 2 years and 11 months behind bars.
Brutal Street Fight Erupts in Westminster
Meckeal Pond, 30, of Bravington Road, faced Isleworth Crown Court on 5 August where he admitted violent disorder. The court confirmed Pond intended the item he carried to look like a real firearm during the chaotic fight.
The clash unfolded on 2 January 2019 near Great Western Road and Harrow Road, W9. Police were called to reports of a massive gang feud involving around 20 men armed with knives, machetes, and a firearm. CCTV evidence revealed at least seven weapons and one gun were brandished as violence erupted.
Seven Sentenced in Gang Brawl – Total 17 Years Behind Bars
- Jordan Bedeau, 19 – 3 years for violent disorder, weapon possession and criminal behaviour breaches
- Rhys Herbert, 20 – 2.5 years for violent disorder and CBO violations
- A 17-year-old – 10 months detention order for violent disorder and CBO breaches
- Damani Salmon-Charles, 24 – 3 years 2 months after partly pleading guilty at trial
- Youssef Eldrissi, 28 – 2 years 11 months for violent disorder
- Brandon Wyse, 21 – 2 years 6 months for violent disorder
- Osamah Elbadawi, 19 – 2 years 11 months after being found guilty of violent disorder and weapon possession
Their combined sentences add up to nearly 18 years, locking up key players behind this violent street mayhem.
Police Praise Thorough Investigation and Community Support
Detective Constable Russell Bryan from Central West CID said: “Pond had absolutely no care for terrified pedestrians when waving that fake gun.”
He added, “This sentence shows how seriously we take violent disorder. Thanks to thorough policing and public support, a dangerous man is off London’s streets.”
Pond to Face Further Criminal Behaviour Order Hearing
Pond will return to Isleworth Crown Court on 16 September for a hearing to consider a Criminal Behaviour Order aimed at preventing future violence.
