New Suspect Nabbed Over Fatal Maidstone Brawl
A man has been arrested in connection with the deadly street fight that claimed the life of 21-year-old Andre Bent in Maidstone town centre.
Fatal Stabbing Shakes Maidstone
The brutal clash erupted in the early hours of 25 August 2019. Andre Bent was fatally stabbed after 17-year-old Vasilios Ofogeli and his friends travelled from London to a local nightclub. The violence spilled onto the streets, ending Andre’s life.
Life Behind Bars for Murderer
Ofogeli was convicted last year of Andre’s murder, plus two counts of attempted murder and one of wounding with intent. He was locked up for life on 21 May 2020.
More Men Sent Down Over Deadly Disturbance
The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate’s probe didn’t stop there. Nine more men were sentenced for their roles in the violent outbreak. Now, a 30-year-old man from Hertfordshire has been added to the list of suspects linked to public order offences.
Recent Arrest After UK Return
The latest suspect was arrested at 7.10am on 18 August 2021, moments after arriving back in the country. Police continue to tighten the net on those connected to the Maidstone tragedy.
