Woman Assaulted and Children Kidnapped
Thames Valley Police are scrambling for witnesses after a terrifying incident in Banbury on Saturday night, June 8. Between 9pm and 11pm, a woman was assaulted, and her two children were forcibly taken from her near Ruscote Arcade and Ruscote Park.
Children Safe, Suspects Break Into Home
Thankfully, the children have been found safe and unharmed. But the drama didn’t end there. At around 10.05pm, the kidnappers tried to break into a property on Ruscote Arcade by kicking the front door and smashing a window.
Three Arrested and Released on Bail
Police have arrested three locals from Banbury—two men aged 58 and 38, and a 35-year-old woman—in connection with the assault and kidnapping. They are currently out on conditional bail pending ongoing inquiries.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Footage
Detective Constable Bryn Smith from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit reassured the public that these were targeted attacks that do not pose a wider threat. He urged anyone who saw the events or has CCTV or dash-cam footage to come forward immediately.
