A 22-year-old bragged about having “a lot of money” before launching a horrific attack on a teenage girl in a Solihull park. Now Dago Williams is behind bars for nine years.
Boasted on Bus, Flashed Cash, Then Turned Violent
Last June 6, Williams struck up a chat with a group of teens on a bus to Chelmsley Wood. Showing off his cash, he added them on Snapchat. After hopping off, he stole cans of booze from a nearby shop and shared them with the group.
Chilling Assault in Meridan Park
Williams zeroed in on a 17-year-old girl. While sitting on a bench in Meridan Park, he made unwanted advances. When she rejected his kiss, he sexually assaulted her and tried to rape her.
“As she tried to escape, Williams punched her in the face and strangled her until she collapsed. He even threw her bag into bushes to stop her running,” said a police source.
The terrified girl screamed, ran to a friend’s house, and called the cops.
Quick Police Work Snaps Up Suspect
Officers used the Snapchat username Williams gave to track him down fast. He was arrested and charged with attempted rape, sexual assault, strangulation, assault, and theft. Now he’s locked up for nine years.
