Drug Dealer Caught with Cash Stash in Sock – Jailed and Funds Donated to Charity!
Drugs Hidden in Sock, £2,270 Cash Found
Alpay Seydali, 22, was nabbed last September during a police patrol in Woking. Officers stopped his car and discovered a whopping £2,270 in cash. A further search uncovered a black sock stuffed in an air vent – packed with bags of cocaine.
18 Months Behind Bars at Chichester Crown Court
The court sentenced Seydali, who has no fixed abode, to 18 months in jail on January 17, 2025. The judge also ordered the cash to be confiscated. Now, that money will go straight to The Young People’s Shop, a Chichester mental health charity.
Police Praise and Community Boost
“This result has removed another criminal from our streets and shows how vital it is for the public to report suspicious activity,” said PC Chris West from West Surrey’s Neighbourhood Policing Investigation Team. “Thanks to the sharp work of the arresting officer and the team, we’re committed to protecting Surrey from organised crime.”
The seized cash donation not only hits organised crime but also backs local services that help the community thrive.
