A man who savagely murdered his ex-partner before fleeing the scene has been locked up for life, with a minimum of 24 years behind bars.
Brutal Killing Shocks Havant Community
Norbert Maiksner was found guilty of murdering Frances Obiefuleh at her home in Havant, Hampshire, on 16 April 2025. The court also convicted him of child cruelty, adding to the horror of the case.
The night turned chilling when Maiksner was spotted the next morning walking along the M40’s hard shoulder near High Wycombe. He stunned officers by confessing to the killing and handing over Frances’s address.

Jane Rahman from the Crown Prosecution Service said: “Frances Obiefuleh’s life was taken in the place she should have felt safest – her own home. A family has now been left heartbroken following a senseless act of violence at the hands of her ex-partner.”
She praised the police and prosecution for piecing together a rock-solid timeline. Rahman added, “Our thoughts today are with Frances’s family, who have suffered an unimaginable tragedy. We will continue to pursue the most serious charges in domestic homicide cases.”
