Westminster Stabbing: Young Man Tragically Killed
Detectives have named the fatal stabbing victim in Westminster as 21-year-old Omar Abdullah. Police rushed to Lilestone Street, NW8, at 3.23pm on Monday, 28 November, following reports of a stabbing.
Two Men Stabbed, One Dead at Scene
Officers, London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance found two men with stab wounds. Despite emergency crews’ best efforts, Omar died at the scene. His family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.
The other victim, 20, remains in critical condition in hospital. Later that day, a third man, aged 21, arrived at hospital with a hand injury linked to the incident but his condition is not serious.
Murder Inquiry Underway
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, leading the Met’s Homicide Investigation Team, said:
“A young man has died and his friends are devastated, while a second man fights for his life because of knife crime on our streets. “Our detectives are piecing together what happened but we need the public’s help to bring those responsible to justice and provide answers for Omar’s family.”
DCI Howie urged witnesses or anyone with images or footage captured on mobile phones or dashcams to come forward. Officers and homicide detectives remain at the scene.
“If you don’t feel comfortable speaking to police, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously,” he added.
Police Boost Presence Amid Community Shock
Detective Chief Superintendent Owain Richards, Westminster’s local policing commander, said:
“I understand the shock this tragic loss has caused locally. Specialist homicide detectives are working fast to identify those responsible, and local officers are supporting these efforts. “Residents will notice an increased police presence in the area as vital evidence gathering continues.”
