Second Teen Banged Up Over Murder of 16-Year-Old Kayden Moy on Irvine Beach
Police Scotland have hauled in a second suspect in the brutal murder of 16-year-old Kayden Moy. The East Kilbride teen was fatally attacked at Irvine Beach on May 17, 2025.
Kayden was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital but sadly died from his injuries. Police say the assault was targeted, not random, sending shockwaves through the community.
What Went Down at Irvine Beach?
Emergency crews were called to Irvine Beach just after 6:45 PM on May 17 following reports of a serious assault. Officers discovered Kayden with critical wounds and rushed him to hospital. Despite efforts, he passed away shortly after arriving.
Authorities have stressed there is no wider public threat despite the violent attack.
Second Teenager Arrested in Connection
On May 22, Police Scotland confirmed a second 17-year-old male from East Kilbride was arrested over Kayden’s murder. Earlier in the week, a different 17-year-old was charged with murder, possession of an offensive weapon, and attempting to pervert the course of justice. He’s been remanded in custody following a hearing at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
Police investigations are ongoing as detectives hunt for more answers.
