Victim held hostage after nightclub ordeal
Kent Police are appealing for a crucial witness to come forward following a shocking sexual assault in Gillingham. The attack happened in the early hours of Saturday, February 3, 2024, after the victim left a nightclub.
The suspect reportedly stopped the victim from leaving his vehicle before speeding off. The terrifying journey ended at the victim’s home, where she finally managed to escape.
Detectives desperate for vital info
Detective Constable Kelly Hui urged anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in Chatham or Gillingham around that time to speak up. “We’re appealing to anyone who may have seen a man approaching women in Chatham or acting suspiciously in Gillingham,” said DC Hui.
Suspect in custody amid serious charges
A 25-year-old man from Chatham was arrested on Tuesday, February 6. He now faces three counts of sexual assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and false imprisonment. The accused is remanded in custody ahead of his hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on March 4.
