Terrifying New Terror Charge Hits Man Facing Multiple Offences
A man already facing serious charges has been hit with an extra terror offence. Cavan Medlock, 27, appeared in court today, Friday 23 October, and was slapped with an additional charge: preparation of terrorist acts under the Terrorism Act 2006.
Medlock’s Long List of Charges
- Possession of a bladed article in a public place
- Threatening someone with a bladed article in public
- Racially aggravated public order offence
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH)
- Making threats to kill
Originally charged on Tuesday 8 September, Medlock faced court via virtual hearing and was remanded in custody. He was due to appear at Harrow Crown Court on 7 October but was later transferred to the Old Bailey.
Old Bailey Hearing and Next Steps
At the Old Bailey today, the terror preparation charge was added to his indictment. Medlock remains in custody as he awaits a plea and case management hearing, date yet to be decided.
A provisional trial date is locked in for 17 May 2021.
