COVID Testing Hits Over a Million as Death Toll Rises
Millions Tested, Hundreds of Thousands Positive
By 9am on 1 May, the UK has smashed through the 1 million COVID tests mark with a total of 1,023,824 tests conducted. On 30 April alone, 122,347 tests were carried out. In total, 762,279 people have been tested, with 177,454 confirmed positive cases.
Death Toll Hits 27,510
Tragically, as of 5pm on 30 April, 27,510 patients who tested positive for COVID have died across all settings. The grim numbers highlight the ongoing challenge the UK faces battling the pandemic.
