MasterChef Shock: Monica Galetti Steps Back After 14 Years!
Monica Galetti, the beloved MasterChef: The Professionals judge, has announced she’s pulling out of this year’s series. After 14 years alongside chefs Michel Roux Jr, Gregg Wallace, and then Marcus Wareing, Monica is stepping back to focus on family and her ailing restaurant.
Heartfelt Farewell from Monica
“It is with a heavy heart that I’ve made this decision to step back from filming this year’s series of MasterChef: The Professionals,” Monica revealed.
“My loved ones need me, my restaurant needs me, and balancing long filming days over the next three months was just impossible.”
“Hospitality has been battered recently, and my focus has to be 100% on rebuilding my kitchen team and supporting my family.”
“To my MasterChef family, crew and friends, I’m so sorry I won’t be with you this year but I hope to be back soon.”
“Thank you to the BBC and Shine TV for understanding. I’ll be cheering from the sidelines. To Marcus and Gregg – you’ve got this! If you’re unsure, just think: what would Mon do? See you soon!”
BBC and MasterChef Team Show Support
Sarah Clay, BBC’s Commissioning Editor for Entertainment, said: “Monica is a valued member of the MasterChef family. We’ll miss her expertise but support her decision to focus on family and business. We hope to see her back in the kitchen soon.”
David Ambler, MasterChef’s Executive Editor, added: “Monica is one of the most talented chefs of her generation. We’ve worked closely for 14 years and see her as integral to the show. We hope this break is just for this season and the door is always open for her return.”
