Woman Attacked Near Warrior Square Club in Early Morning Horror
A woman in her 30s was targeted just after leaving a nightclub in the Warrior Square area at around 4.20am. Four men, believed to have just left Moo Moo nightclub, approached her.
Man Attempts To Rape Woman by Skatepark
One of the men struck up a conversation and later tried to rape the woman near the skatepark on the corner of Warrior Square and Warrior Square East.
The suspect is described as white, medium build, with short dark brown hair. He was wearing a black or dark coat with a hood, a dark jumper, black trousers, and black trainers with a white rim around the sole.
Police Step Up Patrols and Appeal for Info
Temporary Detective Sergeant Ant Hopkinson from the Adult Sexual Assault Investigation Team (ASAIT) said:
“I know this incident will cause concern to people in the area and specialist detectives are investigating. This was a serious assault and we’re supporting the victim, but incidents such as these are rare.”
“High visibility patrols will be stepping up in the area to reassure the public. If you have any concerns or information, please speak to one of our officers.”
“Tackling violence against women and girls is an absolute priority for us. We have a dedicated team working to identify the man involved. I urge anyone with information to come forward.”
