Two Men Arrested Over Brutal Prison Officer Attack at HMP Whitemoor
Two men have been arrested following a terrifying attack on a prison officer at HMP Whitemoor in Cambridgeshire on 9 January. Among those held is Brusthom Ziamani, suspected of viciously assaulting four officers and a nurse during the incident as cells were unlocked.
Suspects Charged With Conspiracy To Murder and Terrorism
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrests on Monday. Both men, aged 24 and 26, face charges of conspiracy to murder and preparation of a terrorist act under section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
High-Security Transfer and Police Custody
Ziamani and the second suspect were moved from the high-security prison to Paddington Green police station in London. They remain in custody under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) as inquiries continue.
A spokesman for the Met Police said: “Two men have been arrested in connection with an attack on a prison officer at HMP Whitemoor on 9 January. The men, aged 24 and 26, were arrested today, 2 March, on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and preparation of a terrorist act.”
