Ninth Arrest Made in Elyon Poku Murder Probe

Police have arrested a ninth suspect in the murder investigation of Elyon Poku, who was fatally stabbed last September in Stamford Hill. On Wednesday, 27 March, an 18-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of murder. He has since been released on bail to return in late April.

So far, eight other people have been questioned and released under investigation as detectives continue to piece together the case.

Stabbing at Wilderton Road Party

Twenty-year-old Elyon was stabbed during a party on 22 September 2018 at Wilderton Road, N16. Despite emergency treatment at the scene, he tragically died hours later in hospital.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

Detectives from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command are still appealing for anyone who attended the large party to get in touch. They believe mobile footage or photos could hold vital clues.

“We know that this was a large party with many people in attendance who would have seen Elyon that evening,” said Detective Inspector Rita Tierney. “While we have spoken to many witnesses, there are still others who may help us. Any video or images could prove crucial.”
