Tragic Leicester House Fire Claims Life of Six-Year-Old Chamiah Brindley
This heart-wrenching first photo has emerged of Chamiah Brindley, the six-year-old girl who died in a deadly house blaze in Leicester. The fire tore through the home in the early hours of Tuesday morning, sparking a brutal investigation and the arrest of a 14-year-old girl suspected of arson. The teen has now been released on bail as the probe continues.
Family Devastated, Community in Shock
Chamiah, pictured smiling in family snaps, was described by relatives and neighbours as “beautiful” and “angelic.” Her mother, Tracey Moore, 38, who has ten children, is shattered by the loss of her youngest daughter. The close-knit family adored Chamiah, and grief is pouring out from the local community.
“My little niece died; we’ve lost her in the fire. It’s my sister’s house. What’s happened is awful,” said Chamiah’s uncle, who lives just across the street from the cordoned-off home, fighting back tears.
Firefighters Called at 4 AM, Investigation Underway
Emergency services rushed to the scene at 4:08am Tuesday. Several family members were hospitalised as a precaution, but sadly, Chamiah did not survive. Police and fire investigators are combing through the wreckage to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
Neighbours spoke of waking to flames and chaos: “Some of us tried to help get the family to safety, but it was hysteria. It was awful,” one said.
Tributes Pile Up as Police Appeal for Information
Outside the charred home on Mowmacre Hill, floral tributes, cuddly toys, and heartfelt messages have appeared. One reads: “Rest in peace, beautiful little girl. Taken too soon.”
Leicestershire Police have kept an open mind and are working closely with fire officials. Detective Inspector Michael Chandler called the incident “extremely tragic” and urged anyone with information to come forward.
