Woman Seriously Hurt in Horror A56 Crash After Mercedes Rear-Ends Toyota
A woman in her 20s was left seriously injured after a crash on the A56 Accrington Easterly Bypass just before 8pm on Thursday, October 13.
Crash Details: Toyota Flipped on Roof After Being Hit from Behind
A Toyota CH-R, heading north towards the J8 roundabout, was slammed from behind by a Mercedes C220. Both cars were thrown off the road and ended up on the grass, with the Toyota flipping onto its roof.
- Passenger in Toyota (woman, 20s, from Nelson) suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital.
- Driver of Toyota (man, 40s, from Nelson) had minor injuries.
- Mercedes driver (man, 60s, from Manchester) arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in custody.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
