A brutal assault in Chelmsley Wood has left a young woman fighting for her life after Jordan Herring threw her from a fourth-floor tower block. The 22-year-old from Solihull was found guilty of wounding following a tense trial at Birmingham Crown Court.
Shocking Fall Leaves Woman Hospitalised
On 12 November 2022, Herring hurled his 18-year-old girlfriend from Merton House’s fourth floor. Emergency services weren’t called for over an hour, but the victim was eventually airlifted to hospital with a collapsed lung and multiple fractures to her pelvis and ribs.
Herring’s Denial Falls Flat as Police Back Victim
Despite Herring’s claim that the victim jumped, police stood firmly by her side. The Public Protection Unit backed her courageous testimony, which led to Herring’s arrest and serious wounding charge.
Past Abuse and Sentence Looming
Herring already had a conviction for coercive and controlling behaviour against the same woman. He now faces sentencing in April. Authorities continue to offer strong support to the victim and praise her bravery in speaking out about the abuse.
