Extinction Rebellion Pair Face Trial Over QEII Bridge Climb
The trial of Marcus Decker and Morgan Trowland kicks off at Basildon Crown Court at 10:30am on Monday, 27 March. The duo have already served 158 days on remand after scaling the QEII Bridge in November 2022.
The pair are part of Just Stop Oil, demanding the government stop all new fossil fuel licensing and development across the UK.
Animal Rebellion Activists Charged After Buckingham Palace Protest
On the same day, five Animal Rebellion supporters will stand trial at Southwark Crown Court at 10:30am. They face charges of criminal damage exceeding £5,000 following protests at Buckingham Palace in August 2021.
Lengthy Trials Expected for Both Cases
Both trials are set to run for over a week as UK authorities crack down on high-profile eco-activism.
